The fruit of Saw Palmetto is a drupe, ovate-elongated, up to 3 cm long. As it ripens its color changes from green at the beginning of ripening to a bluish-black tint in the period of full ripeness. Ripening of the fruits occurs from August to October. Saw Palmetto is considered to be slowly growing, since it grows up to 2-4 meters in its entire life.
